ANTIQUE HAIR CURLING IRON TRAVEL HEATER
Interesting and unusual antique travel case designed to hold oil or a similar low burning oil for use with a curling iron. Measuring 3" long, 1-1/2" tall and 2" deep, it is embossed brass with some original silver plating left. Complete with hinged end and tiny lift latch, interior is fitted with fold out arms for supporting a curling iron - there is a screw off cap, original wick and reservoir - this would have been lit in order to heat up a curling iron for styling hair.
Condition is very nice with a bit of separation and wear to part of the hinge as shown - still operates correctly and stays closed - latch snaps over the button and seals tightly - screw cap operates as it should, and other than general usage marks and plating loss, appears to be complete.
Think this is such a cool antique vanity item - can't imagine how dangerous this was to use, pack up and travel with - what women did for vanity!! Fun addition addition to any collection or display!
