The BAE 73EQL is an inductor-based 500 Series equalizer module, using the same topology as the legendary 1073 EQ circuit. The vintage 1073 is the holy grail of EQ, and the BAE 73EQL nails its sonics and behavior (complete with its fabled harmonic distortion). This classic sonic alchemy imparts a natural, highly musical character to your audio material, even when cranked to extremes. The 73EQL also offers the intuitive industry-standard functionality of the 1073, with a greatly expanded frequency selection — from 20Hz to 20kHz — that makes gives you a lot more sound-sculpting control.
The holy grail of EQ
The 73EQL’s midrange band offers ±18dB of boost/cut and a time-tested selection of eleven bands that allow the 73EQL to adroitly sculpt any sound signal with musical precision. The low-frequency shelf features five frequency selections, starting at a gut-thumping 20Hz, that allow boosting or cutting of up to 16dB to ensure proper weight for each track in your mix. The high-frequency band also gives you five frequency selections, extending all the way up to an airy 20kHz. Finally, a highpass filter features five frequency selections and an 18dB-per-octave slope to help eliminate unwanted low-end sludge that can muddy your mix and curtail headroom.
