I have owned this
AWESOME
unit
for years.
It has been well kept and used very gently/lightly.
smoke free environment. Purchased new, I am the only owner.
I used it to record bass guitar (direct) and live drums (mic'd) for personal projects.
It's a
FANTASTIC
unit, the punch it slams into kick and snares.
Toms come to life as well, and with the "air" feature your overheads
record with a broad and warm sharpness.
The
EQ is a sweet
addition if you desire it.
The
compressor
if used correctly, is especially helpful
for adding that
extra smack
needed if desired, especially
on the kick or the snare.
it keeps bass guitar
rich and warm
with
punchy
zest.
The VU meters are thoroughly
focusrite
precise
I hate to part with it, but sometimes life
steps up it's game and thus I need to sell it.
** these units if properly cared for will last a very long time.
I maintained and cleaned all the knobs and buttons at least once a year.
Takes about 1/2 hour. - otherwise the knobs and buttons will begin to stick causing cracks, pops, and annoying distorted crackle ... especially if in minumum use ... that's the trick
Use DEOXIT D5 .. superb results !!
Cosmetics:
The unit is very
clean
and the face has only a few scratches ...
one is located beside the channel one icon upper left corner. (hairline scratch)
and there are two located around the instrument jacks (also hairline scratches)
There may also be a few very tiny and minor tics and what not, it is used.
The leds and VU meters
ALL
function and illuminate correctly.
There is the some rack rash to the outer shell.
After all, this unit was mounted in a rack and removed when I moved twice and for cleaning.
So the chasis does have some scratches. These completely goes unnoticed when mounted in a rack.
Use washers so not to scratch up the face.
(Please examine pics - the chasis scratches are not visible, but they are there,
there is one on the bottom, again unnoticed when mounted. I want to be honest)
