Description
The NVX QBUS8v2 is a phenomenal exemplification of the best thing modern technology offers us – freedom. Freedom to roam, to communicate, and in our case, to enjoy the depth and richness of your music without adding bulky amplifiers and subwoofer enclosures. We realize there are people who aren’t quite satisfied with a dull, lifeless factory system, but also don’t care to set off car alarms every time they turn the stereo up. It was with this customer in mind that the QBUS8v2 was born. What separates the QBUS from other compact bass solutions is the acoustic performance and quality of the construction. While it won’t shake your rear view mirror off, the low-end response of the QBUS is perhaps best described as strikingly powerful; the tight, crisp bass carries a strong presence without overpowering the more delicate frequencies. The included bass control knob allows you to quickly adjust the level of bass for different types of music. The beautiful thing about the QBUS8v2 is that it’s a fully contained subwoofer system, consisting of an ultra-durable woven fiberglass 8” woofer driven by a highly efficient class D amplifier. These components are housed in a rugged aluminum chassis, specifically designed to offer incredible strength and protection while effectively dissipating heat. Best of all, the housing is less than 10” wide by 14” long, giving the QBUS a footprint about the size of a legal pad. At about 2.5” thick, it slides easily under the seat of most sedans and SUVs. If you have room for a book, you have room for bass.
While spectacular sound quality and compact, rugged construction might be enough for some, we at NVX believe in designing products that are as easy and enjoyable to install as they are to use. The QBUS8v2 features speaker-level inputs with signal sensing automatic turn-on, allowing you to tap directly into your existing speaker wire without running RCA and remote wires. Adjustable input sensitivity, crossover, phase and bass boost controls make it easy to tune the sound to your preference. Silver-plated RCA connections and wire terminals ensure a tight connection with maximum conductivity.

CEA-2031 Compliant:
All CEA-2031 compliant loudspeakers adopt the same testing and measurement methods so comparing them side by side is easy. Loudspeakers include car speakers and subwoofers. The Consumer Electronics Association created new testing and measurement methods for mobile loudspeaker systems that define test procedures for rating the performance and physical size of speakers. This is important because you can now compare different speakers on the same playing field. Any manufacturers who adopt the CEA-2031 logo product mark can be compared evenly to other speaker manufacturers with the same mark.
When CEA-2031 marked speakers are compared in conjunction with CEA-2006 marked amplifiers, you can select speakers that match up appropriately with a particular amplifiers power handling capabilities. Manufacturers who test their loudspeakers to CEA standards are required to report primary power output in watts, the cut-out diameter and mounting depth as well as the speaker’s impedance. Also, the maximum RMS power output is listed in watts and total harmonic distortion (THD) along with the speaker’s signal-to-noise ratio is listed. CEA-2031 standardization changes the way equipment performance information is relayed to consumers for easier comparisons of loudspeakers.
CEA-2006 Compliant:
The CEA-2006 Standard is an official testing and measurement method for amplifiers established by the Consumer Electronics Association. In order to standardize the power ratings of mobile amplifiers, the CEA-2006 compliancy ratings where established to inform the customer that they are getting the wattage that they paid for. In defining this standard, CEA tests and rates the ”performance of amplifiers designed for use in mobile (vehicle) applications”. This statement found on the CEA website continues to define the types of amplifiers that they will test. It is applicable for single channel and multi channel amplifiers that rely on the vehicle’s primary electrical system and have a power output of greater than 5 watts. When an amplifier is tested, CEA uses the following method to ensure that the ratings are consistent.
For RMS Power Output of Amplifiers:
Tested at 14.4 Volts
4-ohm Impedance load
<1% THD (Total Harmonic Distortion)
When looking for an amplifier, it is important to see if the manufacturer has received a CEA-2006 compliancy for the amplifier. If so, then the ratings can be trusted at the advertised wattage. If they are not CEA certified, it could mean one of two things. First, the manufacturer has not submitted the amp for testing and it may or may not perform as advertised. Second, the specifications of the amp are not considered to be CEA-2006 compliant.
This rating applies to both external car amplifiers, as well as the amplifiers inside of in-dash stereos.
