Pietà Sculpture - Mary and Jesus

Description

Exquisite pietà statue measuring 9 1/2 inches in height from base to top of Mary’s head and 8 1/2 inches in width at base. Pietà means Pity or Compassion, and represents Mary sorrowfully contemplating the dead body of her son which she holds on her lap. This piece weighs right under 10 lbs and while I am unsure of the material, it is heavy and stone like. There is one small flaw, as noted in last picture but when displayed isn’t as noticeable as when turned on its side.
