In April 1944, the little bulletin of "Vercingétorix", created by Ayme-Guerrin became the official secret organ of CDLL, entitled simply
Those of the Liberation
, and printed first in Raincy then in Paris. On June 25, it was renamed
Free France
. Finally, on August 22, 1944, it appeared in broad daylight under the title
Free France
. Aimé Guerrin was its most regular editor and editorial writer.
He left office and the newspaper in May 1945, following the conflict which opposed a large part of the members of CDLV (born from the merger of CDLL and Vengeance, in February 1944) and several leaders, including André Mutter, who heard transform the national resistance movement into a political party (very rightist in orientation).

before being absorbed by
The Auror
e in 1948.
