Attention all Marines and Marine Corps patch enthusiasts! This is a FINE reproduction of a unit logo patch for
1st Reconnaissance Battalion
of 1st Marine Division.
These can't be found just anywhere!
Not, of course, allowed on the uniform, but worn on all manner of off-duty civilian caps and clothing as novelty items.
NOTE:
This
nice big 4.5-inch
patch is about an inch taller than my other 1st Recon patches. It would look GREAT on a jacket! For a smaller ballcap-sized version, please
Visit my eBay Store.
Recon Marines are, of course,
the elite of the elite!
And their evolving role in the Marine Corps includes at least 25 redesignations since 1937! During the
Viet Nam War,
First Recon Bn served officially from March 1966 to March 1971. I call this patch “Vietnam-style” because it is a
modern reproduction
of the type of "skull and bones" patches that were hand-stitched by locals during that war. Popular slogan among the Recon community is:
SWIFT • SILENT •
DEADLY!
In 1993, the unit was down-sized and redesignated “1st Recon Company” – BUT as of July 2000 they were brought back up to battalion strength.
NOTE:
Please
Visit my eBay Store
to see the RARE
1st Recon Co
patch listings (in both
color
and
subdued OD)
representing that phase of their saga! There you will also find the
current style
1st Recon Bn patches in both
color
and
subdued OD!
Recent Decades:
In 2003, as many of you know, 1st Recon Bn served in the initial phase of
Operation Iraqi Freedom!
Evan Wright’s book
Generation Kill
(along with the HBO mini-series of the same name) chronicles his experiences with this battalion as an embedded reporter. Since then, 1st Recon re-deployed to Iraq
more than a few
times, including a 7-month rotation beginning April 2007.
This is a BRAND NEW and UNUSED patch. It is NOT a war relic but a recent manufacture item! Embroidered on blue twill with merrowed edge and plastic heat-sealed backing. Colors are clean and bright. See ruler for size comparison.
Flat fee for shipping is .00.
Semper Fi!

Contacting Me:
Click
"Ask a question"
link above to make initial contact, and I will respond in kind using the “eBay Messaging” forum. Please monitor your
and/or eBay
"Messages"
tab for my response. I'll share my e-mail address in the response, and you are welcome to communicate with me via e-mail at that point if you wish.
(Your e-mail address will only be used for response to questions or transactions. I have no interest in sending unsolicited advertising, and will not share your contact info with anyone.)
I try
to respond within 24 hours, but hope you understand I do have a life outside eBay, and may not always be so prompt. And please take into account weekends and traditional US holidays.
Messages communicating info about a listed item are appreciated ..... but may not get response quite as fast as a message that requires immediate answer. I
do
have to prioritize every now and then.

Packaging & Reliability:
My flat-fee shipping structure covers cost of packaging and postage, and is a
best-guess estimate
for size and weight of items. It's not an exact science.
(The flat fee is still significantly less than my actual cost for postage.)
Items ship in
zip-closure poly bags
to protect from moisture. Items ship as trackable USPS First Class parcels within the US.
In my experience, the track record of
US Postal Service
delivery within the US is
practically 100% reliable.
I may
at my discretion
choose insurance for shipments of a certain value. But the best insurance you can have is to make sure you provide a
current and correct postal delivery address,
and to check your mailbox regularly.
Items ship within
1 business day
of receiving payment. Check my feedback for
satisfied customer testimonials!
Feedback:
I always post feedback after a completed transaction and always appreciate feedback from satisfied buyers. Normally takes me only a day or two, but sometimes I get behind.
Please be patient.
Also, if you are dissatisfied in any way, please contact me before posting negative. Maybe there's a misunderstanding, or something we can work out.
Return Policy:
"No Returns Accepted"
is my designated policy, unless an item has a defect or was misrepresented. I go to great lengths to describe each item
honestly and accurately,
and there’s a
ruler
in each photo for size comparison. I ask that you be sure of your decision before buying.
Please read the description entirely and carefully examine the photo.
Ask questions
prior to bidding.
I try to respond to e-mail inquiries within 24 hours.
Please resolve any questions or doubts prior to purchasing.
My Expectations:
Buyer’s
on-file E-mail address
is valid, and checked regularly.
Buyer's
confirmed ship-to address
is
correct
and
current
for
postal delivery.
Payment
(or communication indicating buyer’s intentions) within
three (3)
business days is appreciated. If no response, a reminder invoice is sent. If I don't hear from a buyer — in any form — after more than
ten (10)
business days, a case may eventually be filed with eBay’s
Resolution Center
to recover the
Final Value Fee
(eBay’s commission) on a sale not completed. In the case of an auction, this usually results in the item being re-listed.
:-(
Bottom line:
Please
contact me
if there are circumstances in which you cannot comply with above expectations.
