Vintage BRONZE BOOKMARK 1938 Girl Scout Promise Inscribed, Tassel, CHRISMAS GIFT

1938 BRONZE BOOKMARK
Excellent Condition
This wonderful Girl Scout
bookmark is from 1938
.
The Girl Scout Catalog describes it as, "Satin Finish Bronze."
It shows the OLD EAGLE LOGO on one side of the open book, and the Girl Scout Promise as it was in 1938 on the other side.
The tassel is a replacement, but it is fairly close in color and texture to the original.
I will take a new picture each time this is sold because the conditions vary widely.
The beautiful design is embossed green and black and has held up very nicely.
You may not be able to see in the picture, but down near the bottom - about 3/4 inch up, in tiny letters it says, "Made in U.S.A."
It measures approximately 4 inches high X 1 ¼ inches wide.
There are a few marks from age and some scratches, but nothing that takes away from its beauty.  I have
brightened the picture so that you can see the detail, but the actual piece is darker.
NOTE:
I have not cleaned it
.  The 4th picture shows a cleaned version.  If you request this one to be cleaned, just let me know.  It takes only a few minutes to bring it back to almost new, but you may prefer the patina.
It is GIFT QUALITY and would be an EGHTY- YEAR- OLD treasure for any Girl Scout.
